Rock Tuner Privacy Policy

Applies to the Rock Tuner applications for Apple TV (tvOS), iOS, Android, and related services operated by Crucial Velocity Radio / Adam Sage (“we”, “us”, or “our”).

1. Who we are

Rock Tuner lets you listen to our internet radio stations, including Crucial Velocity Radio and Blown, from devices such as Apple TV. Contact: [email protected]

2. Information we do not collect

Rock Tuner on Apple TV does not:

• Require sign-in, registration, or a user profile
• Ask for your name, email, phone number, or payment details inside the app
• Access your contacts, photos, microphone, camera, or precise location
• Use third-party advertising SDKs or cross-app tracking on Apple TV
• Sell, rent, or trade personal information

3. Information that may be processed when you use the app

To stream radio and show now-playing information, the app connects over the internet to our servers and content delivery partners. Like most online services, standard technical data may be processed automatically, for example:

• Network / server logs: IP address, approximate connection time, and request metadata (as typically logged by web hosts and CDNs)
• Device / app technical data: a User-Agent string that includes app name, app version, and operating system version (for example, RockTuner-v1.0 (tvOS 17.x)), used to operate and troubleshoot the service
• Stream and content requests: which station stream you request, and now-playing / artwork lookups needed to display the current track

We use this information only to provide, secure, and improve the radio service (deliver audio, display song info and artwork, diagnose outages, prevent abuse). We do not use it to build advertising profiles.

4. Data on your device

The app may keep limited information on your device as part of normal OS behavior (for example, temporary caches of images or audio buffers). Rock Tuner does not create a personal account store on our servers for Apple TV users.

5. Third-party services

Audio may be delivered through streaming / CDN infrastructure (for example, our stream host). Artwork or metadata may be retrieved from our own Rock Tuner API hosted on crucialvelocity.ca. Those providers process technical request data as needed to deliver content. Their processing is limited to providing the service; this policy describes our practices for Rock Tuner.

Apple provides the App Store and device platform under Apple’s Privacy Policy. We do not control Apple’s data practices.

6. Children’s privacy

Rock Tuner is a general-audience music streaming app. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your region). If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, contact us and we will delete it.

7. Data retention

Routine server and CDN logs, if retained, are kept only as long as reasonably needed for operations, security, and troubleshooting, then deleted or aggregated according to our hosting practices. We do not maintain a marketing profile of Apple TV listeners.

8. International users

Our services are operated from Canada. If you use Rock Tuner from another country, technical information may be processed in Canada or in locations where our hosting/CDN providers operate.

9. Your choices

• You can stop using the app at any time and delete it from your Apple TV.
• You can limit network access for the app in system settings (the app will not function offline for live radio).

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The “Effective date” at the top will change when we do. Continued use of Rock Tuner after an update means you accept the revised policy.
